Materials science pertains to the discovery and design of new materials; for VMT this means finding new materials to make fluid handling systems safe and reliable. Breakthroughs in material science have a significant impact on the future of couplings, connectors and fittings that meet the demands of the medical, industrial and, more importantly, bioprocessing marketplace.
Many of our research and design engineers have a strong background in materials science. They understand how the molecular structure of materials translates to component properties and performance. With this knowledge they evaluate materials to assure that VMT products deliver superior performance.
With expertise in metals, plastics and elastomers, VMT’s research, design and quality engineers have designed and built over 10,000 products that are operating in some of the most harsh and critical environments—from medical devices to chemical dispensing delivery to bioprocessing systems and everything in-between.
